The Political Economics of War

  • 6 Steps

About

This course explores the structural forces that sustain war, focusing on global capitalism, resource extraction, the arms trade, and geopolitical power relations. Students will critically examine how economic and political systems contribute to conflict, displacement, and inequality, particularly in the Global South. The course challenges humanitarian narratives by highlighting the role of global actors and institutions in perpetuating violence, and it equips students with tools to analyze war through a critical, anti-colonial lens.
