This course critically examines how racism operates within the global refugee system, using comparative case studies of Liberian and Ukrainian refugees. Students will analyze disparities in media representation, policy responses, and access to resources, highlighting how race, geopolitics, and global power structures shape refugee experiences. The course challenges dominant humanitarian narratives and emphasizes ethical, anti-racist approaches to refugee policy and practice.
